It’s freezing cold in and around Hamburg at the moment. Lola and I went out for a walk today, wrapped up properly — the countryside quiet and sharp-edged in that very particular winter way.
I filmed a bit with my old and trusted (and slightly busted) iPhone 13. It struck me how well these images would sit with an acoustic version of Dark Times. There’s something about cold air, emptiness, and that pale February light that instantly pulls you into a certain mood.
I’m rehearsing for my release show at the Fischhalle in Harburg this Saturday, so slipping into that headspace came naturally. The songs are very much alive right now — still shifting slightly, still finding their final shape in a solo setting. I quite like that moment, just before everything settles.
Here’s a little winter snapshot from today. Moody, quiet, and very much of this time.
Enjoy.
